Individual Therapy

Individual therapy refers to one-on-one mental health treatment that is personalized to suit an individual’s unique needs. It involves setting therapeutic goals, processing one’s past, and learning how to manage one’s symptoms or triggers in order to live a healthier life. This includes treatment of moderate to severe mental health symptoms and often times diagnosable mental health conditions that are significantly impairing a client’s day to day life.

I utilize ONLY Evidence-Based therapeutic interventions (EBTs), drawing from Attachment Theory, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness based (MBCT, MBSR), EFT, RO-DBT, and Compassion based therapies. I have a strong interest and knowledge of Behavioral Neuroscience (as related to mental health and substance use issues) that informs my treatment with all clients.

I have knowledge of 12-step and other sober support programs and take a collaborative approach with clients to address their specific needs and facilitate positive change.

Typically, sessions are weekly or bi-weekly.

Therapy for Therapists

There is one thing that most therapists agree on, and that is that EVERYONE can benefit from therapy, even us!

As providers, we have the privilege and reward of witnessing others healing during difficult times. At the same time, it can be challenging for us to hold this space for so many.

Therapists can face a unique set of challenges, including: everyday life stressors, ethical dilemmas, emotional depletion, isolation, separation of personal life from work, compassion fatigue, and difficult clients. As mental health and medical professionals, we also have increased risk of developing vicarious or secondary trauma.

You may think that you “should” be able to manage on your own because of your training, but the reality is: everyone can benefit from a neutral, supportive third party.

Therapy for Therapists provides: support from a colleague who understands, neutral feedback, and the opportunity to deal with personal problems. It focuses on issues such as: help for the helper, vicarious & secondary traumatic stress, imposter syndrome, counselor identity, counter-transference, and compassion fatigue/burnout.

I provide this service to ALL behavioral health professionals (psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, clinical case managers, mental health techs, etc.), not just therapists.

Typically, sessions are weekly or bi-weekly.

DBT Skills Group

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of therapy that focuses on helping clients who struggle with regulating emotions and maladaptive behaviors. Learn more about DBT here.

This is a standard weekly DBT Skills Group. The group will cover the 4 modules of DBT (mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness) over the course of approx. 6 months and incorporate DBT-SUD concepts as appropriate based on the clients’ individual needs. It is a closed group & will cap at 5 clients. The full curriculum will repeat after it ends so all clients have an opportunity to go through 2 full rounds of skill training (recommended).

Group currently on pause, email if interested in joining waitlist | $65 per session billed monthly

**DBT Skills Group is one part of the four part Adherent DBT model. I DO NOT provide all 4 parts of Adherent DBT. The main modality of DBT treatment is for clients to join a skills group while also seeing an individual therapist. The combination of the group and individual work has proven to be most effective in re-training the brain and learning new coping mechanisms. If you are wanting Adherent DBT this skills group must be combined with weekly DBT Individual Therapy and phone coaching from a therapist on a DBT consultation team. I can give you referrals for intensively trained DBT individual therapists who provide these additional services.**

Advanced DBT Process Group

This is a bi-weekly Advanced DBT Skills group tailored for graduates of standard DBT Skills Group that would like to develop a deeper understanding and mastery of DBT skills.

Effort is directed towards generalization of skills learned and application of DBT-strategies to daily living situations. This group maintains a focus on relapse-prevention and features a process-oriented format.

Clients should be able to tolerate giving and receiving feedback from other group members. Clients who cannot tolerate this will be referred back to standard DBT skills group. The group will cap at 5 clients and is open and ongoing.

Group currently on pause, email if interested in joining waitlist | $65 per session billed monthly

**Clients who didn't do their initial DBT skills training with me will be asked to attend 2 individual intake sessions with me so I can evaluate your existing skill recall & practice and ensure you are appropriate for the group**

Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision is a unique experience aimed at building your clinical skills and increasing your knowledge, competence, and confidence while under the guidance of a Clinical Social Worker. My goal is to support you in this next chapter of your career and help you to become the Clinical Social Worker you want to be.

I am licensed to provide Supervision to LMSWs in Texas. Supervision with me includes: case consultations, clinical skill building (particularly in areas of assessment, diagnosis, and intervention), examining theories and practice models, exploring ethical dilemmas and counter-transference, expanding cultural competence, preparing for the licensing exam, exploring areas & populations of interest to you, and getting updates on social work matters and CEU opportunities.

Just like with therapy clients, my approach to supervision is Relational-Cultural. I believe that goodness of fit is the most important aspect of the Supervisor-Supervisee relationship and offer a free consultation so that we can get to know each other better.

**Please note: Clinical Supervision IS NOT the same as Individual Therapy. I CANNOT provide Clinical Supervision to my therapy clients and vice-versa**
